Windows bug? notepad bug? which?
I just received an offline message today which said to do the following:
Open your notepad.
Type the following text:
Save the file.
Open the file.
See what happend!
What you think about it?
The text will be changed to a chinese text!
Only use notepad, in wordpad it doesn't happen, only notepad.
It's not Chinese...Notepad can't properly guess the file encoding when you save a file with that pattern. If you get on Google you can see a number of text files that will do the same thing-- notice they all have 4 letters, then 3, then 3, then 5. Save it as UTF-8 encoding and Notepad will open it correctly.
hmm, Seems correct what you said,
but why the following text doesnt work:
iran wni via atoms
just changed win to wni.
Also I couldn't fine anythig in google, may you give me link?
It's not all text files with that pattern of letters, but many of them.
Here's some info: http://bink.nu/Article7429.bink
What i want to know is who is that bereft of a life that they sit there doing this crap on the off chance of coming up with something like this.
This happens with any combination in the configuration of '4-3-3-5', hence "iran" is 4 characters, "win" is 3 characters, "via" is 3 characters and "atoms" is 5 characters.
