Could you please share why you're not providing the ticket number?
It looks to me that for some reason, just like in the other thread that is active right now about hostgator, people just like to "hit and run". If I would have a problem that I want to solve, I would be more than willing to provide the information needed to either prove a point or solve the problem.

I am hosted by hostgator and I had no problems with them.

At the time you opened the ticket you had only been with us a matter of hours not even enough time for dns to fully propagate. Hours later from the time the ticket was opened you said it was no longer an issue.

I do not believe this thread is fair at all considering....

    1. dns probably had still been propagating
    2. The issue only lasted few hours according to the information in your ticket
    3. You said you never have seen speeds above that yet you were with us less then a day and again not enough time for dns to propagate since you were accessing it via the web to test.
Please contact me directly you have a problem before posting on wht without allowing for us to attempt to help you first.

At the rate complaints like these occur in WHT, it might be time for the mods to put
a sticky where such situations must be taken directly with the host rather than a
thread here. But that's just me.

Out of curiosity.. how would DNS propagation matter if he had a direct link to the file he is testing with as shown in a later post. DNS shouldn't slow down the download. DNS issues would be more related to not seeing the site / link from various networks. But not related to 'This download is slow.'

Some people can download fast some are slow it all has to do with your isp, where you are located, and the route taken to theplanet. If you there's a problem it woudln't have anything to do with the server if it did some people woudln't be able to download faster then others.

Regarding dreamhost.com for me it resolves to 66.33.201.141, but I can't access their homepage, is something wrong with it?

Im also doing my site backups atm so thats with a heavy load on my end.

I dont have a fast connection to start with so thats the fastest I will ever get due to restrictions on my end.
I could tell you a joke about UDP. But I'm not sure you would get it!

Since this has developed into a speed test thread, moved to other reviews.
