robots.txt to stop google images?
I have this:
What am I missing? Does this stop google images from any subsequent indexes or does it stop immediately? I'm thinking it stops subsequent indexes but I have had this in place for months now and I am still getting google images using my bandwidth..
Can;t post links, but, go to google and run a search for the following:
google stop indexing robots
There will be a link to the google webmasters area. There is an entire page there about robots and disallowing information to be indexed.
You did it right, though...now, it becomes a waiting game. Personal experience...it is quicker and easier to get the initial crawl, than recrawls.
Has the bot been back? In the server/account logs?
Check that out and it is a good indicator of it being there scooping your links up.
Might as well stop all SE Bots from indexing your images.
