How to pretect your domain from spamers.
My site's form is being attacked every now and then they do all sorts of tries some send stupid messages to visit their sites some try to use bcc to send spam (Fixed)
Now i have an other problem they are using my domain in the emails they send to people I am getting countless returned emails every day with wiered emails like [email protected] domain.com
It is so frustrating Can some one please suggest here what ways can we use to avoid spammers to misuse the domains.
Read up on creating an spf record for your domain:
http://www.openspf.org . It won't fix the issue completely, but it will help a little.
You can install mod_security as a module in Apache and set a SecFilter on "bcc". This will prevent badly programmed forms from being exploited and sending spam via the bcc field.
You can add an image to that form so they will have to enter some letters from an image. There are a lot of free scripts on the net to add human interaction.
I had to do that on all my forms.

I have spf string on all my domains but it seems that spf records are not quite followed by many hosts.
As an end user i could not install mod_security however have sent an email to my host to install it.
I thanks you for your responses. This particular spammer is misusing my domain is some kind of stock promotion email. I can shut those emails but turning catch all emails off but then how would I know that people are still misusing my domain.
You may have CATCH-ALL email enabled cause you receive
[email protected] domain.com. Set it to fail.
