    Talented Junior Sysadmin wanted! (UK)

    Ultraspeed are a rapidly growing Managed Hosting specialist, due to our expanding customer base we now have a vacancy for a Junior Systems Engineer based from our lively and dynamic London office. (UK)

    Ultraspeed are looking for someone that can begin performing some of the simpler 1st line tasks for our smaller customers, and can grow (with internal/external training and mentoring) into a normal Systems Engineer role.

    Experience: You will have 1+ years Linux or Windows administration experience in a customer facing context.

    Personal skills: You will be a self starter, act with conviction and initiative at all times. You will be an excellent communicator, both internally and externally. You will thrive under pressure. You will be an excellent team player.

    Technical skills:

     You will have experience running a variety of Linux and Windows variants, experience of Windows 2003 Server, Redhat Enterprise, Fedora and CentOS is ideal.
     You will have experience running a variety of applications in an always on environment, both open source and binary, such as: Apache, Mysql, Qmail, IIS, SQL Server.
     Experience of web based control panels for Linux and Windows is ideal, but not essential. (Eg, Cpanel/HSphere/HELM)

    As this is a Junior role, much of the appointment of this position will be based on aptitude, however demonstration of some technical experience will be important.

    Compensation: 12-15k per annum, dependent on experience. Private health care, bonus scheme, Stakeholder pension and share options.

    This position is based from our office near Liverpool Street, London. Some flexible working will be possible. Applicants must be resident in the UK (and hold relevant work permits) and have excellent written and oral English communication skills.

    do you really fancy a 4-5hr train journey to get to work in the morning and 4-5 hrs in the evening?

    We'd consider yes - but we'd really like someone London based, or within easy reach of London...
