RaQ4r -> RaQ550: will the CMU utility do the job?

RaQ4r -> RaQ550: will the CMU utility do the job?

    I currently have a RaQ4r, and bought a RaQ550.

I need to migrate all my virtual sites from the RaQ4 to the RaQ550.

On the site of Sun, no word is spoken about the CMU utility,
and on the old cobalt site they only speak about the RaQ3, RaQ4 and XTR version of the CMU.

Anyone already tried to do this?
I can't take ANY risk to loose my customers data.

Because cobalt has not released a new CMU package for the RAQ 550 yet (and you need to install a copy on both the old and new server) I do not think you could migrate it successfully. I would think some small changes would be in the 550 package, and you will need to wait or do the move manually.

    Good luck,

RaQport.com has no reply from Cobalt CMU for RAQ550

    sorry,

We are still working to get CMU for RAQ 550's.

As of today we have for raq550's webelizer, upgrade php and mysql with php my admin, new neomail.

It looks like 550,s are better deal then XTR but they still make so difficult to install additional applications.

Still working on CMU, firewall, virus filter, Spam filter.
sorry for delay for CMU but looks like Sun after they took over cobalt don't put enough effort for that company.

I think cobalt has a lot of loyal customers worldwide, from all ethnic groups and all countries. They just don't wont to cooperate with developers all over the world to make the product better.

you remember one of the latest patches problem with PHP and MYSQL.
but RAQ 550,s fast server and the price is just right.

    Thnx 4 your info,
but it'll be difficult to replace RaQ4's by the RaQ550's without the CMU...

I guess we have to wait...

I sure that the CMU has references to a 'RaQ5' in the source!!

The 'upgrade path' should have been the first thing on Cobalts list of jobs.

Yes you say it the good way...

    "SHOULD" be ....

I think a lot of us would be more interested in buying new RaQ550's if Cobalt would provide a good-working CMU on-time

We had long conversation yesterday with VP of marketing of Sun Cobalt Marketing about the CMU for 550's.
We were promised that Sun will escalate the problem.
We did receive some 550's last week and they are all sold out. We did some testing in our development center in Europe and we like 550's more then XTR's. Mrtg, webelizer, neomail amd php myadmin does work on 550's.

Also for new patches update you have to go to Sun Website
On Cobalt Site they are not up to date.
