    Logwatch and cron.daily

    How do I disable logwatch from running and sending daily emails to root? The emails are over 8mbytes in size

    Does logwatch log to a file? It could quickly consume a lot of space. Also, I noticed that the email from Cron Daemon: Cron <[email protected]> run-parts /etc/cron.daily show less stuff now, how do I change it to show more? Thanks in advance.

    If you want to completely disable logwatch from running, just move the /etc/cron.daily/logwatch (or whatever the script is called) out of that directory to someplace else.
    If you want to logwatch to send you more info in the e-mail, you can change the log detail level in the /etc/log.d/conf/logwatch.conf. Look for this:
    # The default detail level for the report.
    # This can either be Low, Med, High or a number.
    # Low = 0
    # Med = 5
    # High = 10
    Detail = High

    If you want logwatch to send the results to a file and not an e-mail, change the following line to yes:
    Print = No

    And set the directory you want the result files to be stored in:
    # if set, the results will be saved in <filename> instead of mailed
    # or displayed.
    Save = /tmp/logwatch

    Hope this helps.
