In general its not a great idea if you oversell hugely on the basis that one day everyone may use their allowance.
However i use Plesk and CPanel neither allow overselling your limit. I have serveral customers who demand like 400meg diskspace and use less than a hundred, cpanel tells them how much space they have left so i cant reduce their amount.
The thing is its costing quite a bit to keep paying for more diskspace thats not being used.
I have now cut the diskspace on new accounts to a more reasonable level, but what i want to know is there anyway around this with cpanel?
Just for info: I don't want a flaming, i would never oversell to the point where the whole thing would come crashing down if everyone started to use their allowances, and i plan to move to a dedicated in the next year, im just curious as to whether anyone does know how 2 oversell slightly on cpanel
it is a bulk plan but they have set my account to x amount of diskspace etc so when i add accounts whos limits total my max amount i cant add anymore regardless of how much is used. The same is true on plesk
