I'm stuck with this issue, which i think that could be an easy one for anybody else, the thing is that i know practically nothing about JAVA.
This is my case: I need to make use of a remote application on a "x" service provider. The provider sent me a JAVA api, and some examples on how to compile my java local program and how to make use of the API. I need to send the parameters to the API based on my users input on my site, which is under Linux/Apache/PHP.
As i said before, I know nothing about JAVA, so i was thinking of something like this:
1-Build a Java program based on the examples and place it somewhere on my server (/path/to/the/javaAPI). I've already installed the JVM, etc, so i'm sure i can run JAVA.
2-Write a PHP script which makes a system call to my Java program.
3-Here is where i get mentally stuck... i think that the java program will get executed, now how do i get the result for PHP??? I was thinking on make the program to output the result (println or something like that).
