    BurstNET Outage (09/28/06) [MERGED]

Once again, and yesterday, BurstNET is down. They claim BGP4, but what's the deal?

I need 5U of space with reliability. Atlanta would be nice...Suggestions?

Yes, it's down. I can ping to the servers but Apache/POP/SMTP is all dead.

It is a no brainer. Atlanta = http://gnax.net

They are redundant carrier wise but they don't have a redundant setup in any other way. If a router fails that translates into a full network outage for the most part.

As for Atlanta colo, www.globalcompass.com is good. I prefer them over GNAX, but other opinions may differ.

Are there other decent colo providers that offer internal cpanel, plesk, and Windows licensing at affordable rates?

They don't seem to handle these DDOS's very well.

Layeredtech.com is said to be good. I prefer EV1servers.net though. They are more expensive then Burst but their network is very reliable.

Is EV1 doing colo these days?

+1 for Layeredtech.com but they are in Dallas. I had a dedicated server with them till I switched to colo. It was solid as a rock. I would love to return back to them if they were closer. Also if you decide to colo in Texas consider colo4dallas.com
