I'm actually building my system right now. Doing all the work myself. The deck is actually a Double Din Touch Screen system (no-name brand). Custom built box with 2 12'' Alpine Type-R Subs and a Rockford Fosgate 1200watt amp.

Nice, I was going to get some of those subs but I'm going to hold out until I can buy some Crossfire xT212. These babies weight alot, 40lbs each Also for the Fosgate, I was going to get one but I decided to stay with Crossfire as well since I bought a Crossfire EQ.

I have a high-output alternator, but the capacitators from what I hear are a bad idea. I was told to get a Optima Redtop battery and add more ground wires to control the amp drops.
How did those subs handle?
Once I get my crossfire subs I'm going to replace my Crunch PZI 1000.1 with 4-5 PZI 1500.1
Right now I have 2 Almani S-3 12" 1,000watt competition subs. They push hard but not hard enough. My doors are starting to become loose and rattling so I'm going to be putting that stuff in soon. (I cant remember what its called but it helps reinforce the car and stops the ratling)

Also your links dont work

I'm keeping it simple in my "new" truck (85 Silverado). It's all Audiobahn with a Hifonics amp.

the 1200 audiobahn head unit (mainly got it cause it has usb on the front which I can use to charge my cell phone, and apparently read mp3s off of flash drives and hopefully, my mp3 player). It also plays cd-rws of burned mp3s.

10 inch subs in a sealed box, it's the midrange audiobahn subs, not the low end or the high end subs, they're rated to like 250 or 450 watts rms

aubiobahn 5.25 inch components front and rear

HiFonics Z8000 5 channel amp, 4x65 + 1x300 (I think it is) and only one amp to dicker with.

Gonna add an HO alternator as well. Mainly because they're only a little more expensive than a regular alternator and the one in there now came on the 305 that the truck had in it when I bought it and I ain't trusting it.

http://faith.dixiesys.com/85-Silverado

The 305 is gone, replaced with a built 406 and the 3 speed auto is replaced with a 4 speed auto, gotta get the bugs out of course, mostly timing and carburetor adjusting.

Is this going to be like your hobby truck (Like your going to repair it and make it worth more then it was brand new)
That would be a bad *** truck to fix up. With that engine, and the big bed in the back I could do alot of work on that baby

Also the HO alternator I put in was forced. My car wasnt producing enough power and would sometimes shut off (this is before I put in the stereo) so I had to put it in to help. The lights kept dimming when I was stopped and the truck just couldnt stay on.

I had a system in a van once, but I didn't put in a HO alternator, I could make the motor die if I cranked up the stereo I put that system in a Geo tracker and ordered a handmade HO alternator for it, wouldn't even hardly dim the lights.

No this is my daily driver, my hobby buildup is the 72 gmc with the big block in another gallery of pics

http://faith.dixiesys.com/72GMC?page=1

Factory air, factory big block, front disc brakes, 4 speed trans, just gotta get her painted, new rims/tires, new interior, clean up the motor, and then start a stop watch to see how long until I fling that tranny across the asphault like I was feeding pigeons metal scraps.

I just got the 85 back yesterday with the new motor and transmission in it, oh man is it bad, it'll never even get traction until third if I just punch it from a stop, no dropping it into gear, no braking it, just stop, and stomp down on the gas and hang on. Something like 500hp in that 406 yeah I'm not sane.

No way man, it will save you from getting pulled over from the bass sucking all the electricity from the lights. It will also save your alternator at lower rpms. Of course, you can always tweak the alternator to spin faster at lower rpms but capacitor is the lazy man's way.

Yeah these subs hit really hard. You'd turn them up and you would either fall asleep from the bass (you subwoofer people know what I mean) or you'd feel like tossing your dinner. My entire back tailgate was about a half-inch loose which made the rattle almost louder then the subs.

Yeah but doesnt the capacitor only help a little? The guy at the stereo shop said I should just get a Optima Redtop battery @ Sears and it would be better then a capacitor becuase you can do the "Big 3"

Also can you upload those pics?

Your talking about the double-din tv right? I was thinking of getting one of those but what if someone walks past my car and sees it. I would rather have a one-din motorized one because then no one can see it and they think its a cheap radio.
