    Full backup for dedicated server

What do you folks use to make a full backup of the linux OS on your dedicated server once you stripped it down and tweaked it to your liking?

I think a remote backup is needed. If the box get rooted, they can delete your backup if it is on a local HD. If this is not the case, please tell me how.

This tutorial on systemimager looks good, have any of you used it and which dedicated server provider would support the 'rescue mode' needed to restore?

This may not be what you are looking for but it is an option:

maybe something like that would do it. tar up everything except
and store it on a remote server.

When the day comes, have the dedicated server provider reinstall the OS, bring over my tar files to the fresh box, 'untar and replace'.
