I think all of the items you listed are important. Any on the list could be a "deal breaker."

One that doesn't use a lot of extra characters in a subject title just to get noticed.

  7. I would say the order would be reliability -->performance --> level of customer support --> features --> and finally price. Unfortunitely to many people put features and price first.

That's how these forums thrive is off people making mistakes. It all works out in the end.

Personally, I think it is a tie between *reliability and *customer service.

But judging from from what I see on this forum, it looks like many go by price and nothing else...

I look into all of them equally. They are all important to me and most people looking to start a new website.

i look for all of them. i think they are all as important as the next. although i would comprimise on space and bandwidth for service and uptime.

  14. #14
For me, I will look at the bandwidth first. Then disk space.

I think all the suggestions has to be really in a package. The customer will expect all those things from a web hosting provider.

These all seem to be must haves to me.

How strategic is web hosting for your business?

If your business is only internet based and fully ecommerce, then Cost will be a much lower priority. Alternatively, if you just have a 10 page static HTML site, then cost might be the highest priority, since you could live with a little down time and low tech support.

Features: Disk Space, Bandwith, Scripting/Database technologies etc.
    Reliability (Server Uptime)
Performance (Speed of downloads and response time.)
    Level of Customer Support.
