    Which Server..?

OK, so which server is a better deal?

Opteron 275 Single CPU Dual Core
    2048MB RAM
    250GB HD
    2000GB Bandwidth

    ----------------------------

Opteron 170 Dual Core Single Processor
    2048MB RAM
    250GB HD
    2000GB Bandwidth

    The 275 is $16.00/mo more..

Since you won't own the machine, the fact that the 275 can work in dual processor mode is not important.

The 2.2GHz vs. 2.0GHz will give a boost in speed. It's up to you whether the $16/month is worth it.

Yeah but thats a really small boost.. I wouldnt even notice the difference would I?

Im just hosting images, and a basic dynamic php website. There is 1 database use currently, and its small.

The extra boost is not really something you would be using if you were doing database intensive tasks. As you're doing very little DB work - it probably will not make much of a difference at all. However you need to see if the price of upgrading to 2 x 275 is something that is cheap - and if so in the near future if you will require it. Quite often you agree to pay the extra little fee to make sure that if the system isn't performing to requirements, you can easily make it a monster with addition of another chip.

Its about 180-230, one of them has a setup fee the other doesnt.

On a normal month it would be 180-210.

    Im rounding.

In the future I may be using a bigger database, with a lot more queries, it could very easily be doing 50 simultaneous tasks, for just 10 visitors... Of couse there would be a set limit on it though.
