Getting 403 errors when publishing through frontpage
Logs show modsecurity
[Wed Sep 20 16:21:46 2006] [error] [client xxx.xxx] mod_security: Access denied with code 403. Pattern match "cc:" at POST_PAYLOAD [hostname "domain.com"] [uri "/_vti_bin/_vti_aut/author.exe"]
comment the following line !!! i don't see its a good rule anyway !!
To solve this you need to reinstall the frontpage extensions for your domain. Once that is done the frontpage should work fine for you.
Once again, bad solution. The problem has already been solved, and had you actually read the files he provided you would see WHY he was getting these errors.
In his mod_security rules, he had a filter set to block any requests with "cc:" in it. Thus he was getting a 403 because mod_security was setup to return error 403 on a match.
In no way would reinstalling FrontPage have been a solution to this.
hehe.. jakiao supports mine
........ Pattern match "cc:" .........
I am getting the same type of error except it doesn't have the mod_security "403 Forbidden You don't have permission to access /_vti_bin/_vti_aut/author.exe on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not found error was encountered while trying to use an errordocument to handle the request.
