Arrow Are energy drinks illegal in Europe?

    Is it true?

I am hearing things like RedBull is illegal in some countries?

Luckly for me I dont drink them, but is it true that some people died of it?

    Peace,

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Bull

"Sale of Red Bull as a normal soft drink is prohibited in Denmark, Norway, France and Uruguay. Due to the link with taurine, local authorities categorized Red Bull as a medicine and suggest customers ask for medical advice before drinking. Because of this, only energy drinks without taurine are sold in France."

Mm... I had a link for a webiste that will calculate how much of an energy drink will kill you based on weight.

The energy drinks can harm you in large enough quantities. I have never noticed any trouble. Of course I am not downing a case of Monster tall boys a day.

Strange about the taurine becuase there are other drinks that have more tuarine than red bull. I think those tend to mess with your brain chemistry more.

I try a different energy drink everyday!

I don't know, as long as you limit them, I would say your fine.
The most I have ever had in a day, was 2.

I've been drinking Red Bull, Full Throttle, No Fear, Shark, Rockstar (and so on and so forth, about 90% of the energy drinks sold here in Canada) for the past year and half, on a daily to 2 a day basis... Still alive as of right now, even though the old heart some times have stingy feelings...

I wonder what timeframe is the death by caffine thing based on; per day is obviously not going to happen (heck, who can even take 10 cans of redbull worth of WATER straight w/o dying?... let alone 70 cans of redbull...), but per month is seemingly too long.

Interesting read none the less though

Many of those energy drinks taste like horse p*ss or Windex (an acquired taste perhaps?)... I don't know how people drink some of those but the ones I've tried were pretty lousy =)

I drink the occassional RedBull. Maybe 2 a week at most. It's like $4.00/bottle here in aussie, so it's not something you have multiple times a day.

Normally, I have about 2 or 3 cans of RedBull a week. During exam time, I have about 28 to 30 cans of RedBull a week...

I found a drink that contained twice the taurine as RedBull (called Red Rooster), but I've stopped drinking them ever since they lowered it to the same as RedBull...

Does that stuff really give you engery or make you feel like you have a lot more energy?

Because I hear people complain all the time that too much coffee can make them hyper or not be able to fall alseep because of the caffine... however it doesn't have that effect on me.

Double Vodka + Redbull is generally the first drink I would have on a night out just to wake myself up a bit most of the time! Also after buying that one drink I can't afford much else as it is priced so high!

Frosty I can drink a Monster drink which has twice the caffeine of Red Bull and go right to sleep. Of course I now have an etremely large tolerance to caffeine. A monster drink, tea, and coffee are normal parts of my day.

I do think the Rush energy drink is a little wacked. It has th emost Taurine of the drinks and is the only one that tends to make me feel strange.

You shouldn't mix RedBull and Viagra.

I don't drink redbull as it interferes with my true energy drink (if you thought redbull had a lot of caffine):

I used to drink six mountain dews a day and now I'm done to zero after some hardcore withdrawl symptoms. Just say no to soda and energy drinks. I feel better now that I'm off the stuff.

In recent years, taurine has become a common ingredient in energy drinks. Taurine is also often used in combination with bodybuilding supplements such as creatine and anabolic steroids, but there is no evidence to suggest that it has any positive effect on muscle growth.[citation needed]

It is also abundant in most forms of cat food as it is essential for cat health.

That 18 and older thing is a myth, just GNC tries to stand by that guideline, although it is very easy to get.... 7-11 sale them as of lately. I remember when I had to go to a local gym to get them at $5.00/can, now I can get them at $2.25/can at 7-11.

Although yes, they do keep you up pretty good... Although as of late, my tolerance to caffeine is mind blowing.... lets just say I do lines of expresso shots, and fall asleep like a baby .
