You would probably save more money leasing a jet and commuting to a major city every day than getting Gbit (s) connection in Minnesota.

I'm not familiar with the cost of jets, but I think the reference gets the point across. Where a 1Gbps commit in a major city (NYC, Chicago, etc.) might be $10K/month, it can easily be $25-30K/month in a smaller city like Minneapolis. If you can lease a cheap jet for the $20,000/month difference, then yes, it is true.
I think the jet comment was a bit hyperbolic. Most fractional jet ownership programs value flight time at $2000-$4000/hr so if you were flying to CHI from MN you would probably spend about 1.5 hrs actually in the air you would be racking up significant daily flight fees OTOH, if you were a licensed pilot, you could probably purchase a non jet airplane and commute for much less than $20K/mo.
Or back to reality, you could hire guys to work at the data center of your choice (or even outsource just the services you needed) and save quite a bundle. Nothing says you need to be where your equipment is.
