File Moving in Cpanel File Manager

    Dear Wht's,

After backing up a clients site, in order to move them, and placing the backup on our server, how to you place the public_html folder in the root of that cpanel account? Therefore replacing the old public_html folder with the content. This could be done manually although there are just over 60 php files to move.

    Thanks

    Move it via shell.

You can either use SCP to transfer it or tar up the public_html and wget or fetch it from the retrieving server.

cPanel File Manager can only move 1 file/folder at a time.

I highly recommend using SSH or SFTP/SCP to connect and move the files.

Yes, SCP would be the best method to copy the file to the server, then extract it and copy its public_html folder alone to that account.

Thanks for the responces, would use ssh although on this server we don't have that privledge. Understanding that cpanel file manager will only move 1 folder/file at a time why will it not let you move a file into the root with the web site in? Tried scp and sftp neither work.

    Thanks
