    Doesn't have to be free, it can be paid.

    I already know about that PHP class, unfortunatly it needs Hypersnap.

    Thank you

    Khtml2png

    For UNIX platforms theres KHTML2PNG, the drawback being that you need an X11 server running on your a machine. Ugly..

    Theres also one based on Mozilla (again, needs X) but even the author of that one suggests KHTML.

    This would list windows and their ids on current display
    Code:
    $ wmctrl -l
    This will make window with id 0x01404d40 active. You have to do that in order to capture it.
    Code:
    $ wmctrl -i -R 0x01404d40
    This will resize the window with id 0x01404d40 to 1024x768
    Code:
    $ wmctrl -i -r 0x01404d40 -e 0,-1,-1,1027,768
    This will capture screenshot of the window to file blah.png. I used crop to remove firefox toolbars, scrollbars etc.
    Code:
    $import -window 0x01404d40 -crop 1008x653+3+88 blah.png

    If you do not have X running on local display you can run those apps on remote display. This would list windows on machine 192.168.0.1. All other stuff can be adjusted in a simmilar way
    Code:
    $DISPLAY=192.168.0.1:0 wmctrl -l
    wmctrl: http://sweb.cz/tripie/utils/wmctrl/
    import: http://studio.imagemagick.org/script/import.php
    firefox: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/ ( as if that needs posting )
