    * Understanding SSL ....with ftp, shopping carts.

I just recently added SSL to my domain for use with a shopping cart, but i would also like to use SSL for secure FTP transfers. Can i use the same SSL certificate? Or do i have to do something special for securing ftp? I'm new to SSL and need some guidance. Any help is apprecaited. I want to be able to upload/download securely using an FTP program.

You can't encrypt FTP with SSL; the closest equivelant is SFTP, which uses your server's SSH keys.

Your ftp daemon would have to be configured to use that SSL certificate, and you'd need to use an SSL (or TLS) compatible FTP client, such as FlashFXP.

Not something you would be able to do without root access to the machine.
