TranXact Global - Are they still selling hosting?

I've been a customer at TranXact Global for almost 2 years and been relatively happy with their support. However, for the last 6 months I have been trying to get some help setting up a second server and am unable to get the process started. Between their DC move in the spring and basically NO response to any submitted tickets, I'm getting nowhere.

Does anybody know if they are still stable? Are they still in the business of setting up new servers?

They are pretty much all out of servers right now. They are currently negotiating with a large hardware provider to lower their prices and offer a lot more specs (such as dual core machines, single core D processors, etc..) for a more competitive price. The time to deploy the servers is supposed to greately decrease. So, they are going through some major changes.

Have you tried calling them? I doubt you'll be able to get a server directly through them unless they have the specific configuration you're looking for on hand as they are not buying in any more hardware for now. Another thing you could do is contact one of their resellers who could possibly have the server you need.

Right now, GNAX sales will probably take a while to get an answer back to you, as their support department is strained with the move. If you need help with a current server setup, you may want to checkout someone like platinumservermanagement.com

What does PSM have to do with Gnax?

Nothing, but if he needed support for an existing server while GNAX was in their transition, I would recommend them, because right now you can wait hours for a support ticket to go answered. Just an extra layer of protection. Unfortunately if you needed a reboot, and your remote doesn't work, your SOL.

Yeah, I hear that. You can always call them though, but if you're from overseas, could be difficult.

    That is not true.

I just rebooted 50 servers last night for kernel upgrades we did on them and 2 did not come back up due to errors.
Put in a ticket and 10 minutes later Josh was on my server rolling the kernel back for me.

I have not found this to be true. I have done several tickets in the last few days and all of them have been promptly dealt with.

Selling new inventory and providing support for existing servers are two different things.

In all honesty it depends on who is around and what facility you are in.

Last week it took over an hour to get someone to a machine in our cage in the NAP. I spoke with Jeff about it and he assured me the situation would be corrected.

Today, we opened a ticket to have some remote hands work performed on a server post kernel change and Jason had it resolved in under 15 minutes.

Things may be a bit bumpy at the moment but I can assure you that the team there is working hard to make things go smoothly. Believe me, I'm there frequently and talk to all of their techs. These times are extremely stressful on them as well

They might have a dual opteron available in a couple days. And where that one goes, 25 will soon follow.

    That is interesting...

I agree with you -- all of the guys I have dealt with since I started colo-ing there about 18 months ago have been great to deal with. I am sure they are stretched to the max right now. However, I am personally glad that the leadership has not gone crazy with staffing. It is more important to me that they remain financially stable. I think in 2 or 3 months all of this will be behind them and things will get back to normal - which for GNAX is awesome support.

A couple weeks ago I got a motherboard changed and back online in an hour. I've been in some data centers that it takes that long just to get up the chain of beurocratic autoresponses.

They are still there and I can definitely confirm each of the techs Ive met personally are knowledgable and stay pretty busy. Its not like anyone is sitting around or gaming , just a lot to be done. I for one seriously doubt though that their servers and staff are all migrated in the next 90 days, I just dont see it happening without some major changes.

support is taking a bit longer than normal and server setups are taking a lot longer than normal, although i believe you can now get default servers turned up. probably another 60 days before things start getting back to normal.
    I have servers at: NetDepot/GNAX (A), SoftLayer (A), LiquidWeb (B+), DedicatedNow (B+), Nectartech (B) and more!

    Thanks for all the input...

Unfortunately, I run a winter related site and I don't have the 60 days to wait for a server. I've been looking at SoftLayer and may go that route.
