Network monitoring
Hello,
I'm looking for a program/app either based on linux or windows which will allow me to monitor ip's/routers/switches and alert me for overages.
I'd like this program/app to display realtime bandwidth graphs, but not needed.
Any reccomendations would be great,
Thanks in advance.Linux/Windows Technician

Nagios works quite well for monitoring once you get it setup. MRTG or Cacti should be able to get you some graphs.

Yeah, i'm looking for something more multiuser based. So i can have my clients login and view their graphs, etc.

I have been using the beta of PortSensor for a little while and comments about it are around on these forums in a different thread. It's an application for Windows, Linux and Mac which sits in the tray (on Windows) and then notifies you of any outage. See http://www.portsensor.com/

Yeah, i want something that can monitor switches/routers then be able to display graphs. Aswell as users are able to access it to view the bandwidth consumption there server is using.
Anything like this would be excellent.Linux/Windows Technician

I'm hearing great things about Zabbix, an open source suite that seems to run in Linux, Windows, and maybe even the MacOS. I haven't really dug into it much myself, but it shows a lot of promise.

I've heard of Nagios as mentioned above and would have to blindly recommend it because of the person that recommended it to me. The setup process can be hard mentioned to me by someone else as well as in the post above.

Cacti has multiuser support built in...
It's not too horribly difficult to setup cacti to monitor all sorts of things... their forums have addins/templates/modules for most things ppl would monitor.
