Ok, I've got a website/forum (watch related) that currently has anything from 30-40.000 pageviews every day. About 90% of the visitors are return visitors. I've currently got google adsense ads on the site, but it seems that nobody click these ads. So, should I maybe use another advertiser or something else.
I would appreciate any tips, links, etc on how to be able to at least try and convert this activity into some cash.
Google Adsense and forums rarely work well together as most return users tend to get "advert blindness". You are much better off either using google adsense to display image based adverts which will change and are more likely to have people notice them. Or you could offer to host other peoples banner adverts on the site therefore taking all of the profit for yourself. You can offer advertising in the forums here at WHT.
I would suggest just starting a small section to the site that offers Books, eBooks. services, etc that relate to your forum content. Post links in the forums and advertise it a bit, just make sure you are an affiliate for everything in that section. It would take a bit of set up, but would be well worth it.
Look at normal affiliates, find merchants that provide products aimed at your viewing audience, then approach some of these merchant and ask them to sponsor a competition in exchange for exposure/promotion, use the affiliates link in your competition and set a question that requires your members to visit 'said' merchants site in order to answer it, you should pick up commission form sales off the back of it.
Adbrite is a reasonably easy way to sell ads space if you don't want to be bothered with handling the management yourself.
With the type of traffic would that it would take to generate that number page views a day, you have you should have no problems earning some revenue.

I also suggest affiliate marketing. Find some products that are related to your niche and then rotate their banners on your forum. Track the conversions closely and be sure to display more often the banners that convert better.
