    * MYSQL Database Import

    Hi All,
    i want to import a big mysql database ( about 500 mb ) into my host.
    our VPS Server is CentOS and use webmin.
    please help me what am i do?
    database name is: doost_forums.sql

    also here is mysql version:
    [[email protected] ~]# mysql -V
    mysql Ver 14.7 Distrib 4.1.20, for redhat-linux-gnu (i686) using readline 4.3

    Resotring that large a dump using web tools would be pretty much completely impractical, but should be easy from the command prompt via SSH.

    Assuming you have the space for the resotred DB and the dump file (and if you are running that large a database I hope you are paying for a decent spec VPS so have pleny of disc space to play with at this time) then transfer the backup file to the VPS and something like:
    mysql -u username -p password databasename < doost_forums.sql
    should do the trick. Then find a drink and put your feet up as it may take a short while.
