"First, the issue is not related to any kind of hardware failure, system failure, or data loss. The reason the domain names were deleted was due to employee error and only affected a limited number of domain names registered on 2006-08-29 or 2006-08-30, depending on your time zone. The affected registrars were Spot Domain LLC, Name.com LLC, and Name.net LLC. 225 domains got deleted and 216 have been restored to date. There are 9 domains that we have not been able to get back."
This I call service! Not only they admitted the fact of deletion, but they told the true reason and number of domains affected. I can't think of any other registrar which could be so honest with it's customers...
I guess it's a good thing that they (DomainSite) are upfront and honest. I hate people who made mistakes AND not admitting it. I'll stick with the not too specific game. I was once asked to fax in my document by another registrar because THEY had messed up with THEIR databases and almost lost my domains. I should be glad they didn't charge me. ;p
