    * weird apache problem

    the following problem occured after changing the timeout setting from 50 to 30 in apache 1.3.36. when I right click the link > "save as" to download a video file (about 90mb), the file is only 2kbytes in size it's done downloading in 1 second this really baffles me, why would the Timeout setting affect this? I could download the complete file if I set the timeout back to 50.

    Anyone have any clue?

    What's the content of the 2kb file? I'm guessing it might well be a server-generated error message of some sort, though I honestly can't guess why.

    Try to upgrade to the at least 2.0 Apache. Look at the server log files before anything, and post them. If your looking for a faster response download an IRC client and connect to irc.freenode.org and join #apache
