    Please recommend me.

    Hello,

I am looking for decent reseller account.

    Here's what I need:
    - access via ssh
    - wildcard available
    - unlimited domains/subdomains
    - 1-2gb space
    - over 40gb bandwidth would be nice

I can spend ~25$ per month.

    I found something here:
webhostingbuzz.com/hosting/reseller.html Looks interesting... What do you think about it?

Perhaps you can recommend me something else?

    regards,
    m.

You can find a lot of hosting providers by searching on WHT from http://www.webhostingtalk.com/search.php I agree with CyberHostPro. You must contact your provider for allowing SSH access.

Yes, that's right. "Wildcards" need a manual modification of httpd.conf, is it possible to find a reseller with that option? (I already sent some mails to some hosting companies).

But, perhaps, I should start looking for good VPS instead of reseller?

    cheers.

You may find a reseller doing those change, indeed, I don't know why a host would not want to do it.
    It only takes 2 minutes.

Jedito, but is it possible to find a reliable reseller, where I can manually modify httpd.conf, without sending a ticket to support?

If no, then, I assume, I should start looking for VPS.

    cheers.

A VPS will cost more, and if it doesn't come fully managed, you will need to know about server management. You also won't get all of the processing/memory power of a reseller server.

Edit after seeing last post : you won't be able to modify httpd.conf yourself within a reseller environment.

htaccess is possible to do wildcard subdomain. Some shared hosting does not allow access to the httpd.conf file. Likely you'd go with dedicated or vps.

    .htaccess, httpd.conf, mod_rewrite = versus

i think you should look for a vps for the kind of requirements you have..

No, is not possible, you still need to add in the VirtualHost entry in the httpd.conf file for the domain:

    ServerAlias *.domain.tld

Plus you need to add * entry in your named.conf like

    * 14400 IN A xx.xx.xx.xx

    *.domain.tld IN A 1.2.3.4
