Hyperthreading with a dual cpu system will show up as four cpus even though there are only two physical cores.

Exactly what pixelized said. And for a dual CPU AND dual core box with HT, it would look like this:

# grep -i ghz /proc/cpuinfo
model name : Intel(R) Xeon(TM) CPU 3.00GHz
model name : Intel(R) Xeon(TM) CPU 3.00GHz
model name : Intel(R) Xeon(TM) CPU 3.00GHz

I just launched a new dual Dempsey box....I must say there is something cool about seeing what appears to be 8 processors.
