Hi there i wanted to make a update of my kernel and i am running CentOS
this is the information i got:
Linux RH 2.6.9-34.0.2.EL #1 Fri Jul 7 19:24:57 CDT 2006 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
Is this the latest Kernel or where do i lookup the latest and how do i update it if it is not updated?
Have a great day.
2.6.9-42.0.2 is the latest RPM release for RedHat/CentOS. Run a "yum update kernel" and it'll grab that one. You can always check the RedHat errata page for any patches/updates. CentOS generally releases their patches a day or two after RedHat does
I'm running Centos 4.3 with kernel 2.6.9-42.0.2.ELsmp. Since I updated the other day, I've been seeing higher than usual memory load. I have 2GB, but I'm using 75% right now, and last night I had to restart apache because I was at 89% and the swap was at 70%.
