hi, how is it possible to change your file extension to .whatever?
for example the daft.ie website uses .daft as it's file extension
i'm running linux/apache/php on a vps with root access
You need to set Mime Type
^if your site is writtin in php
If you have cpanel you can do it from there.
Doesn't need to be cpanel but yes if the site is in php you can do this by placing this line in a .htaccess file.
AddHandler application/x-httpd-php .draft
thanks for the response guys, i was sure you had to do some fancy rewriting in apache or something to set this up.
I have upload a .php file here > http://www.cormacmoylan.com/hey/heyhey.php
with AddHandler application/x-httpd-php .draft in a .htaccess file.
When i navigate to the php file it renders fine but when i go to heyhey.draft i get a page not found error message
You have to name your file "heyhey.daft" (using your example).
Right. The magic only works if the file exists with the extension you want to process with php.
rename heyhey..php to heyhey.draft
