is that really really possible in a VPS?!!

    Hi,

    I have a vps with 20 websites .

is it possible if an account for example
/home/account1 acesss or scan data in /home/account2

    they use diffrent domains.

    any help would be appreciated.

I am pretty sure that they will not be able to b/c of passwords and such. I am assuming your using cPanel (or something similar).

Sorry that I dont have a 100% answer, but I hope that was helpful.

account1 could not access or scan data in account2, as like you specified, they are different accounts, different domains and what not. This is also not possible on a standard dedicated server either.

By the way, why would you want your accounts to have access to each other?

Yes, if the file/directory permissions are set to other people can read them. Domain useag makes no difference here.

Using jailed SSH access (or stopping SSH access completely for no admin users) does not help as much as some would think (I've seen some hosts use this as the reason for not providing SSH access) because because that only stops access up th edirectory tree during shell sessions - it won't stop a PHP (or other such language) script from seeing the whole filesystem if your permissions are not set right.
