Ive had the Elise and the Boxster and planning a 911 Carrera next... so nice to see
Why is the elise so cheap? I thought it was a high-quality car.
Not at all. The philosophy behind the Elise is light weight ness.
For that reason it has NO comforts, no electric windows etc etc (unless you order them as an option. It doesnt even have proper carpets. They keep the weight down by stripping it if everything a car doesnt need. It makes its handling an acceleration unbeatable but keeps the cost down also.
Even its body is all plastic.
Btw - it is high quality, but in every area that a race-orientated car needs to be. Its nicely put together and awsome to drive, just dont expect any level of comfort or extras
I drive a Mercedes-Benz SL500. Lovely ride.
