MySQL 5.0.24a Released
This is a security and bugfix release for the current production release
family - MySQL 5.0.
The 5.0.24a release replaces the 5.0.24 release.
Please refer to our bug database at http://bugs.mysql.com/ for more
details about the individual bugs fixed in this version.
Bugs fixed in 5.0.24a since 5.0.24:
* MySQL 5.0.24 introduced an ABI incompatibility, which this
release reverts. Programs compiled against 5.0.24 are not
compatible with any other version and must be recompiled.
* For statements that have a DEFINER clause such as CREATE
TRIGGER or CREATE VIEW, long usernames or hostnames could
cause a buffer overflow.
* Pathname separator and device characters were not correctly
parameterized for NetWare, causing mysqld startup errors.
* mysqld could crash when closing temporary tables.
Patron: I'd like my free lunch please.
Cafe Manager: Free lunch? Did you read the fine print stating it was an April Fool's joke.
Patron: I read the same way I listen, I ignore the parts I don't agree with. I'm suing you for false advertising.
Cafe Owner: Is our lawyer still working pro bono?
