My servers are hosted at SAGO Networks and they provide me with Email Hosting using a Shared Server for my domain name. However, Comcast has blocked the Email IP because others on that server seem to either abuse or spam.
SAGO Networks has indicated that there is nothing they can do even after speaking with Comcast, and it has remained blocked from me sending email to friends, clients with a comcast email.
My application uses internal email but that still works to comcast users. Will I have any long-term impact.
1. What can SAGO Networks do to correct the problem for me?
2. What impact will this block on the IP have to my actual domain?
3. How can I find a Email Hosting company that can support using their email server as a smart host to allow a relay email from my servers SMTP server using the domain.
Tried that, they even refused to do it from SAGONetwork. They calim the SAGO allows spammers. Even explained to COMCAST that it is there users who will need to get other email accounts because my emails are to my developers, personal contacts.
COMCAST does not care.
Therefore, I am looking for another Email Hosting to get another MAIL IP.
thats funny comcast would do that I have to my knowledge got at least 3 comcast subnets blacklisted. their abuse dept. is a joke they never respond to any emails or do anything about abuse. If you fill my logs with stupid hack attempts or dos my box, send spam etc ; I will contact the abuse department of the isp or dc, if the abuse or spam is not stopped I will go on to other reporting agencies and I have to regularly do that with comcast, they never do anything though so I just ban the subnets.
I dont know your situation but almost any mass email service or whatever will end up getting blacklisted, especially if you hit spam traps meaning you have been crawling the net for email addresses.
People are really getting tired of spam, it is really 70% of all email sent. I would call that a problem so the blacklisting agencies arent giving no slack.
EShiller has dedicated servers, but wanted to use our shared hosting server for email. There are several hundred domains on this same server for our shared server customers that we've had for years. A lot of these customers have simple forwarding accounts that take the email they get to their domain email and forward it on to the account they've been using for years, like AOL or RoadRunner or in this case, Comcast. Doing this also sends all the spam they get to their respective accounts. Comcast, in all their wisdom, counts this as spam originating from our server. They then block our IP address. When we find out that this has happened, we contact Comcast and get the block removed.
If we added or changed the IP of the server, they would block that one. We tried doing a smarthost, but that generated more problems than it solved. In all reality, email for a dedicated server's domain should be hosted on the dedicated server. I'm not sure why he's not hosting his own email.
SAGO has been great for several years without any major issues, very helpful, especially Mike.
I don't have an email account with Comcast, or one that if forwarded to it. In the past I use to be a comcast customer but never used the account. In fact, I have been with SAGO for over three years. It just now has become an issue.
SAGO Please modify the IP, even if this is another two years that is fine.
