One Website, more than 1 server. How Can I?

    I have a website, lets say www.xxxx.com

When someone accesses the website, all time he gets directed to server 1.

Then server one would redirect to:

    www.server2.xxxx.com

    or

    www.server3.xxxx.com

depending on the load of the other servers

at times it might just stay on www.xxxx.com

How would I go about doing that, what DNS modification do I need to do.

    Thanks,

    Peace

    I got it..

In the first server, add the subdomain record with the second server IP.

On second server setup subdomain account.

    Then its simple php coding.

    Peace,

What you are looking for is called load balancing. That's where there is some software that routes request to a partciular server based on load on all of the servers in a cluster.

I'm not sure if that is supported by most normal hosting plans. That's more of a corporate IT thing.

a simple way is to make a round robin dns
which is adding more than 1 ip address to an A record.
but it is not a good load balancing.
