I noticed and submitted a ticket at 8:56AM:
I awoke this morning to see my server is down or inaccessible. Could you please look into it and get back to me.
Please don't hard reboot it unless necessary, as that caused hard drive inconsistencies last time.

I'm still unable to ping or connect to my machine --
A little bit ago I was unable to ping my gateway: 188.8.131.52 (now I seem to be able to)
Are there any network issues?

There was a DDOS on a machine in your network. It has been resolved.
The server is at a login prompt and all lights, including network link, are lit.

hmm -- so this makes me think that my server was inaccessible because of the DDoS, and didn't need to be restarted. Now I'm not sure why I'm unable to get to it.
Could you please connect the KVM to it so I can see if there is anything wrong with the box, and troubleshoot to see if it is somehow still network related?

Ok,it is online now. I am not sure how it happened, but the network cable was in teh wrong interface.

Thank you for figuring it out and getting my server back up -- however I'm very concerned first of all that my network cable was pulled, and second that the person then placed it back into the wrong spot, causing my box to be down for over 6 hours!
Thsi is not the first time that this issue has arisen concerning it being plugged into the wrong jack in the back. I should've thought to do so before I sent the server, but could you please place a peice of tape over the incorrect network jacks in the back so that the cable is not plugged into the wrong interface in the future?
