I'm in the need of two specific services, preferably both handled by the same company:
- Server administration: applying security patches, daily interpretation of a logwatch report
- staff to answer tech support tickets - tickets will be coming from shared hosting customers using cpanel, and there might be a minimum amount of tickets frrom dedicated server customers.
- 2 of my customers needs their server managed, so the support company must not only agree to manage my servers, but also agree to manage servers that I rent out (therefore, I may offer a fully managed solution) as opposed to simply paying me a referal fee to send the customer to them.
Support tickets I'd most likely buy them in packs, although server administration task should be a fixed amount per month per server. Price break would be nice for additional X amount of servers.
I would just like to thank everyone who responded. As for the last few posts, reason why I didn't respond right away is I ended up finding a service which I liked. I hope I'm not breaking any rules here by mentioning their name, but I have to say I'm quite happy with the service I've received from SSG ( http://www.serversupportguys.com ) . Their support suite is excellant, the communication with the agent is excellant, and they even offer emergency remote hands and other work at your datacenter if you prefer to use the same support group for everything. Another thing which is important to note, I couldn't ask any better as far as response times are, as far as acknowledging and closing tickets.
