These guys are on a "roll". If what they say is true then I have never seen such bad luck in such short time. I hope they can deal with the situation fast enough or I can see lots of money down the drain.
Comet server of Netbunch is down at least 6 (maybe 8 or more) hours in August. There is no announcement about problem. And now comet and also www.netbunch.com is down. Where are you staff???? I can't reach my web sites last 2 hours...
I am in fear, I want the comet server being up and I will carry my sites to another company. I was working with netbuch before being netbuch. It was mesopia and mesopia was good enough. But now it is horrible.
We are sorry to inform you that We had 16 servers completely wiped clean of all data. We are working with FBI and other Law enforcement officials at the present time.
At this point all we can do is recreate your account and give you 1 month of credit for the loss. If any data is recoverable, we will restore it.
16 servers? Either exceedingly inept administration and a very pissed off script kiddie with a personal grudge, or an inside job by the sounds of it (unless granted its a non-payment issue to their provider).
Well the FBI or law enforcement are involved so has to be a disgruntled employee or a serious hack just had occured.
I highly doubt the FBI is involved whatsoever. The FBI have "bigger fish to fry" typically speaking, and any company that sells webhosting but doesen't perform any backups (evidently) is unlikely to have stuff organized enough to organize any serious cooperation/case with law enforcement IMHO.
Ive been looking around for a new reseller at similar peices, I have 2 names so far with slightly diffrent thoughts. I need only a small reseller account for web development, and these are the hosts that fit the bill.
Resellerzoom - offers more space/bandwidth for the money, but no guarentees on uptime or service.
Budgetreseller - slightly less space / bandwidth for the money, but gives service and uptime guarentees. Actually reminds me of dr2.net back when matt had it. So think im going to be going there.
Really? I'm surprised, given their track record that you got a reply so quickly. My site (hosted by Netbunch) was up and running yesterday PM, which means they would have replied to your ticket in less than 24h...that's a world record for Netbunch, even when things are running smoothly.
I too got screwed by Netbunch via Web Host Plus (no offense netbunch, you guys were good).
I am trying to transfer my domain to godaddy. The rep told me that I needed to make sure that the domain was unlocked and I could recevie admin emails.
Now I am pretty sure the admin email was a personal account not related to the netbunch domain but I have no way to see if the domain was unlocked. The rep said I would have to do that from the cpanel (or something).
I cannot get to my cpanel or anything. Does anyone have any advice about how to navigate a transfer when events like this happen? (I am somewhat a newbie to all this).
Sorry, I'm not buying any of the whp continuing lies.
Yesterday when I saw that 220.127.116.11 tracert ended at whp.da.da.da (nj data center), my first thought was wondering how much money they got for the sale of this collection of servers, hard drives and memory ;-) Or they might have been seized by the courts.
In any case, its a great excuse to now cheat everyone, not just those that requested a refund.
Are these folks in the country legally? Oh never mind ;-)
Back-Up Files: We perform routine daily backups of all users' data. Netbunch.com is not responsible for any user's data and all user's are encouraged to perform their own daily backups. If a user experiences data loss due to their own doing, Netbunch.com will charge a one-time $10 data restoration fee per incident that requires a restore of backup to the user's account.
They 'perform routine daily backups'...that's a good thing, no? Could the backups have been wiped too?
Last night there was an attack on the Netbunch servers. Some of the server got hacked and were completely erased. We are currently working with our best administrators and security experts to have the servers restored. On certain servers the backups were attacked as well resulting in deletion of data. If you site is down and you have backup of your data, PLEASE open a trouble ticket requesting your account to be recreated on a new and secured server. WebHostPlus would like to assure all clients that all necessary measures is been taken to find the person responsible and take legal action.
