    SSL certificate problem

I've just migrated my accounts to a KnownHost VPS which has been great so far, but my SSL certificate that I used at my old host doesn't seem to be working quite right.

IE is silent about anything being wrong but Firefox says "Website Certified by an Unknown Authority". I'm sure I didn't have this before. When I transferred the certificate I just took the .crt and .key files and installed them via cPanel - is that correct?

Hopefully someone that understands SSL a bit more than me can explain!

    Thanks
    -Chris

    Chris,

You seems to be missing the ca-bundle.

There is no problem with your SSL certificate. The site is working in firefox without any problem.

A quick resolution is to install latest firefox and do check.

I'm using the most up to date firefox, and it's not a default installed CA.

You will receive 3 CA certificates from LiteSSL. However, if you did not receive the certificates, they can be downloaded below. Right-click on the files and choose 'Save Target As'.

    • UTN-USERFirst-Hardware
    • AddTrustUTNServerCA
    • LiteSSLCA

Some of the webserver software types require the certificates to be combined into a bundle file. This can be downloaded here:

    • LiteSSLBundle

You have a chained-cert not a single-root cert... and it needs the other certs installed.

    Ah, excellent - sorted.

    Many thanks,
