If its for personal use any shared hosting accounts with multiple domain option is fine but if you want to host friends you want to be able to limit their storage/bandwidth usage, then go for a reseller account.
Good luck with your search.

Accounts that can handle multiple domains are best, in my opinion. You can control each in one spot, and all billing is together. If you do shared hosting, go with a company that has fast and dependable servers, as overselling has caused many to perform poorly - in customer serve and system performance.
What do you mean by the only "true" multi-domain hosting?
I.E. properly handle more then hosting one domain in one login without any funky .htaccess
cpanel can't do this and plesk requires seperate ftp logins for each domain, with da/hsphere one login and you can have ftp/ssh access to all your domains.
You also won't be able to reach your other domains from your main domain like with cpanel where you have http://www.blah.com/zink.org....I don't like that as it may associate two domains I don't want associated...
