Firefox or Foxfire?

Have you ever heard people call firefox, foxfire?

I wonder why, because there is nothing like it that I can think of that you could confuse it with. Yet still, they call it foxfire.

Just kinda a pet peave. We all get the point, just wondering if you have heard it?

I don't know anyone who uses Firefox that would call it the wrong thing. Most of the people I know have sold their souls to IE and whatever AOL uses as their browser.

I was thinking you might be posting about a less memory hogging version of Firefox called Foxfire.

I think it's a series of books dealing with how to be a hippie and live in the woods.

I have to say I can't quite remember... I do have this odd feeling that I've heard it being referred to as Foxfire, but I can't say for certain.

Foxfire was around long before Firefox.

I've always heard of Foxfire being used to describe the glowing of certain mosses or funguses caused by a chemical reaction. It's sometimes visible at night in damp wooded areas.

Of course, I grew up near the Fox river (Illinois), and there were a lot of stories relating to the phenomenon passed on by indians.

But.. it could just be that people are dyslexic as well.

Perhaps they are referring to the Jessica Tandy/Hume Cronyn TV classic:
