Oooh, someone noticed Was added yesterday, only shown to guests/non-logged in users though. I don't think they look too bad to be honest.

Please help me to get rid of this - see screenshot

I am trying to get rid of the following. It is not only at this website where it comes up, but a few others as well.

    My OS: Windows XP SP2

I have tried to remove it with the following softwares:

    Windows Defender - No luck
    Spybot S&D - No luck
Lavasoft Ad-Aware Personal SE - No Luck
    Ewido Anti-Spyware - No Luck
    CCleaner - No Luck
Trend Micro Anti-Spyware - No Luck
Using Firefox instead of IE - No luck
Using Opera instead of IE or Firefox - No luck

How can I destroy whatever is causing it?
Some words are double underlined with green and an advertisement shows then.
I also Googled a lot and found no (working) cure.

See the screenshot I have taken below:

    Thanks zaax
On the page of the link you posted:

There has been some confusion about the 're-appearance' of programs such as Ezula's TopText and Spedia's Surf+ which cause extra advertising links to appear within the body of a web page. Originally, Ezula's links were orange and yellow, while Surf+ could be found as green links
Guess I was part of the "confusion". No wonder I cannot get rid of it.

http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=540070 being discussed here. It's Intellitext as the link states and was apparently added to WHT yesterday for users that aren't logged in/registered. A few other sites I visit do the same thing. You are not alone
If you have to operate your company behind the scenes or under a fake name, maybe it's time to leave the industry and start something fresh.

I logged out, and browsed around and couldn't see any instances of those ad links.

Not that there's anything 'wrong' with that.

I don't see anything wrong with ad text links. I'm surprised Google doesn't have that with adwords yet.

I tried both IE and Firefox both logged in and not but no sign of the ads. I'm certainly not complaining, I hope I never see any scumware.

Awww come on people. It wouldn't be that bad.

"Ladies and gentlemen, uh, we've just lost the picture, but what we've seen speaks for itself. The WHT forum has apparently been taken over -- 'conquered' if you will -- by a master race of links. It's difficult to tell from this vantage point whether they will consume the captive earth men or merely enslave them. One thing is for certain: there is no stopping them; the links will soon be here. And I for one welcome our new link overlords. I'd like to remind them that as a trusted WHT personality, I can be helpful in rounding up others to toil in their underground sugar caves."

I don't see anything 'wrong' per say, I just find them annoying..but it's not a big deal to me since they are only for unregistered users.

As long as registered users don't see it... it's fine. I think just by registering and posting we are doing enough to contribute to WHT let alone being forced to deal with annoying intellitext links...

I totally agree. I'm already annoyed enough by the #$*&% webhostingbuzz animated bee buzzing around my screen.
