What state/city would you say needs a budget dedicated provider?
What state or city, would you guys say is missing a proper dedicated server provider with a comparable service offering, including network, low latency, server specs, and pricing as softlayer.com and servermatrix.com, that could still be used to service the entire USA.
I've read old threads about people complaining that there isn't a proper one on the West Coast...
Seattle? San Jose? LA County?
What about on the east coast? Is there a need for one in the north east like NY/NJ?
What are you thoughts?

One nice thing about a central location is that you get good connections to both coasts and decent overseas. If you are only renting a server and never need to go down and touch it there is not as much of a need to have it close by. I live in DC and normally get pings of 50 or less to a server in houston which unless you are doing high end gaming is plenty fast.
Granted I could see some people that might want better but for budget it is hard to complain about pings that low since with hosting it is generally not that critical.

I don't think a 'budget' company would survive with NY pricing...
Alpha red thinking of expanding MSV?

Actually I think Toronto could use more budget hosting.
Trained base of employees
Good infrastructure
Proximity to the East Coast and North Central US

Ah, i figured it out. Canada! Do you have any idea how large the un-tapped market there is if you could get budget pricing? You'd be rich Now go take my business plan and get cracking, I need some cheaper servers in CA

Western Canada you mean, there are some cheap setups over in Toronto now. And, when it comes down to it, the few milliseconds it takes for your packets to head south... meh.

Cuba anyone?
With Castro finally near on his way out maybe there will be some change and an opportunity for growth in the technology sector in an emerging country.
Given the prosperity of Cuban-American immigrants in FL I don't think it would take long for the investment dollars to move into Cuba and spark a big boom in technology

I grew up in south FL so I have alot of close friends / relatives (by marrige) / my god father, etc that are Cuban so you can be sure that the second Cuba opens up I'll be looking for business opportunities there.
I've always wanted to visit there (if for nothing else, the food... best food ever) and I think it would be one hell of a business opportunity since they have little to no infrastructure in place
