This is SOOOOO what I want/need to get things going. I'm tired of doing the reseller thing, so I got my own server now and looking for some interested parties in working it with me (Jax/OP, FL area), the server hosting business that is ;-)

I'm a MSFT certified IT guy who now owns the business of Hosting, Reseling, IT Consulting, etc. blah blah blah.

absolutely! I've been doing reselling for a while, and finally able to get a nice 2U Dell to co-lo. Found a great place downtown and in fact am placing it Wed. I just need to decide on a sofware package for hosting / billing and I'll start moving my customers over.

Pretty well for almost no "advertising" and just word of mouth. Most of the customers are small-med business, but a few are individuals. No one believes in customer service anymore so when when do a good job for someone, they're geniunely appreciative and excited about someone who actually cares so I enjoy that. I enjoy the face-to-face and showing them how I can actually help them grow their presence. It's rewarding for me. Corny I know, but "W-E" as my 12 yr old would say

I notice you do 20gb space and 1000gb bandwidth for under 20 bucks a month... If you plan to use that pricing AND be helpful and face-to-face... well wheres the profit?

I hear ya Matt. THAT hosting was the resell hosting and why I decided to move out on my own. Once I sold a hosting solution, they were on their own. Pluse, I didnt like the control panels, not the most user friendly things, so I'm moving!

And it's a SMALL world.. you're in HH.. I was just there for a meeting. I was in MK and some other countries on business for several weeks and we met some gents in a hotel meeting room... Holiday Inn? for some meetings ... how funny!

off topic but - We're scheduled to be in Canberra next month.. First trip there, looking forward to it, but NOT the 30-hr long flight ! -

As for the new arrangements, I'm working on the offerings but I'm getting an amazingly low price to co-lo my server so the existing customers I have will allow me to immediatley cover the charges I have now, which are higher than with that reseller obviously, but I can offer more services and dictate how many people per server. SO i think it'll be better in the long run. Or so is my hope!
