.RAR files

I have a .rar file that doesn't want to open. I right click on it, open with Winzip, and it seems to be going through properly. However, once Winzip opens it it's the same .rar file (as if nothing was opened or changed at all) which is making me unable to be able to get to the contents within the file.

Any suggestions? Am I doing something wrong?

Hard to say. It might be corrupted.
I don't use Winzip anymore. Have you tried another zipping/unzipping application like Winrar (http://www.rarlab.com/)? In addition to be a freeware, I find it far more effective and powerful that Winzip.

If you open it in winzip, winzip will just treat the file as an item that you want to create a package for.

So yeah, use winrar and problem solved.

Also, thank you for letting us know that there are people still using winzip. I haven't used that program in like 5 years.
