Yup it's real. Could do that with the old powerbooks too I believe. But I know the current macbooks definitely allow it. There's also a mod that plays lightsaber sounds when you tap it.

Aww, c'mon man, as much as windows smacks us around I'm sure us windows users would love to smack it around for a change. Why should the mac users be the only one to smack their machines around?

If your windows machine's hardware supports it then yes you could. There's a mod for thinkpad laptops that allows lightsaber sounds, but only because the thinkpads have a monitor so it can freeze the hard drive if it gets hit or you drop the notebook. Macs have the same feature which is why the hack is possible.
