Hi Folks,
Just installed a new server with a Supermicro P8SCT motherboard and Phoenix Award BIOS.
The specs say the motherboard supports 4G of RAM, and that's what's installed, but the BIOS reports that 1G is taken up by "system resources." Supermicro Tech Support claims that this results from a conflict between system resource addresses and the RAM address space, and sent me some Intel documentation that seems to indicate this is a problem with the Copper River chip set.
But... I know that some motherboard/BIOS combinations can remap addresses to recover that 1G. Anybody have experience with this particular motherboard/BIOS combination? Is there a work-around (like a BIOS update), or am I stuck here?
Thanks very much,
Miles
