The Alienware Aurora mALX comes to mind.

IMHO the Dell Inspiron E1705 equipped with GeForce 7900 GS offers the best bang for your buck. Dell had an awesome deal a few days ago.

I have been using Dell laptops for the last 8 years, maybe even more. I thought there would be some faster laptops out there. I love Dell's support and service.

I checked the alienware ones, thanks Dave...those look good and now that Dell has bought them out they will prolly have the same great support too. I am checking nciz out now too.

thanks....are there any other recommendations?

If your looking for the fastest, you would definately be wanting to pick up a 64bit processor with a 64bit version OS. Alienware offer some of the nicest machines I have come across.

how about processors, is a p4/3.8HT faster or slower than a core duo 2.33? Its not for gaming, but it is for video editing & photoshopping while running other common apps like outlook, firefox, excel, IM clients, etc...
