A lot of exhibitors were offering some really great prizes--from a mountain bike to a plasma screen TV. So my question is, did anybody here take home any nice prizes? Tshirts, pens, and water bottles/mugs don't count. :-)
I personally won an iPod Nano in the Fastsevers.net/Ping! Zine Trivia Challenge plus. It was head to head with mouse and I, but in the end, I pulled through with a low bet on Final Jepardy. :-)

I have no clue, but I don't think I won anything. It was kind of wierd actually (not complaining here). I was in the 1:45 - 2:30 pm session on ranking high in google (we all have to dream). That session ran about 15 minutes late. When I made it back to the exhibit hall at 2:45 (scheduled to close at 3:00) everything was given away and most of the vendors were at least 1/2 way through tearing down their booths.
There is always next year

I always wondered if those prizes are really worth the money for the exhbitors, especially the ones that are given away last few hours of the show. The only people left by that time are the exhibitors who are bored out of their minds looking to do something and they end up sweeping most of the prizes instead of their intended audience.

yes - the majority of prizes were won by exhibitors and even interjuncture staff (tophosts camera I think) - which left a sour taste somewhat.

My staff likes winning things from Interworx...
Last year, Ray won an iPod Mini from them and this year Kevin won a PSP. Ray also won tickets to O from RioRey, which ended up getting given to a lucky customer of ours.

I was up $27 in poker after playing for an hour and a half at a $1/$2 NL Hold'em game at Caesar's (not bad since I was playing against two WSOP players at the table). Won $25 on a couple slot pulls. I had $200 cash for gambling money and I think I came out of the weekend with about $85 of it left, and I paid for some meals with my gambling winnings as well. I didn't win anything at HostingCon itself, but the gambling winnings were good enough for me!

yes - I was that lucky customer to receive the O tickets from Ray - in turn, I passed on our tickets for Howie Mandell to MadRoosterTony - and I also passed my tophost bucks to the winner of the tophosts xbox 360 so he could win in the auction - another exhibitor I think.

That is a good point and next year we plan on giving out more prizes on the first day when the show is packed. Towards the end it was a ghost town.
