1and1 Root Servers

Anyone using 1and1's root servers? Be interested to hear anyone's experiences with them, specifically how fast is their network? They claim 100Mb port and unmetered bandwidth, but I wonder how congested it is in reality...

I would avoid at all costs, I have a friend using them, it took them 45 days (no joke) to provision the server, they keep overcharging him, support is an absolute joke (its outsourced to the Philippines or somewhere), stay clear!

Isnt the 100Mbit unlimited not sneakingly limited to 1000GB, after which they will downgrade to 10Mbit?

Company I work for has 2 servers with them, It's 100mbit until you hit 1000GB, then it drops to 10mbit, you can up it back to 100mbit in the control panel after that, for 250GB at a time.

Machines have been fine, had a problem with them once. Server went down, reported it, they got it back up about an hour later and insisted everything was fine. I asked them for a reason, and they said the technician had put "A short circuit" as the reason. Having been a techie for a while, I know that was a fob off, might as well have been "sun spots" or similar.
